Thinking fo Selling?

Get Your Home Ready with a little elbow grease.

We all know that when potential buyers are looking at homes, the ones that stand out & sell quickly are the ones that are in pristine show room condition.  The first step to getting buyers IN YOUR HOME is to improve your curb appeal.

If the front yard is over grown, weed infested yard, dead trees or bushes, or no grass at all, then what message does that send to the potential buyer?  If the yard looks trashed, what does the inside look like?

So here are some tips to improve your curb appeal:

1. Pick up any trash that has blown into the yard.
2. Get rid of dead trees or bushes and replace them.
3. Add fresh mulch to brighten up the existing mulch.
4. Pull the weeds out of the rock gardens.
5. Re paint your front door and trim if it looks worn or has peeling paint.
6. Sweep off the front porch and dust off any tables or chairs if you have them.
7. Add some new spring potted plants that can handle the cool spring temperatures. Color on the front porch makes it more appealing.
8. Remove any clutter from your side yard especially if they can see it from the street.
9. Place your garbage cans behind a fence or in the garage.
10. Make sure your house number is visible from the street.

More ideas and tips to make your home more appealing to buyers can be read here.  When you are ready to sell, Contact the Hoffman Home Team Today for a Free No obligation Consultation on How to Sell your Home Today.

Is Debt Consolidation Home Equity Loan Right For You?

Is debt consolidation home equity loan right for you?

Maybe you've indulged in impulse shopping one too many times or actually found yourself in an emergency where paying with a credit card was the only option. Either way, if you're a homeowner who is struggling to pay those monthly bills, debt consolidation could make sense for you.

Homeowners who have equity in their homes but whose debt load has become difficult to manage are good candidates for debt consolidation loans. A debt consolidation loan allows you to pay off high-interest consumer debt, such as credit cards, by centralizing those balances with one lender in one loan. This means that you can merge a home mortgage payment, a car payment, a student loan payment and credit card debt into a single larger loan. One way to consolidate is through a home equity loan.

What is a Home Equity Loan?

Equity is the difference between the value of your home and the money you still owe on your mortgage. Sometimes referred to as a second mortgage, a home equity loan allows you to borrow against the equity you have built up in your property. With a home equity loan, your home is used as collateral for your debt consolidation loan. This type of debt consolidation allows you to benefit from mortgage interest rates that are typically lower than rates for other types of debt.

Another benefit of a home equity loan is that in most cases, interest paid is fully tax deductible.
